Custom Choppers and Bobbers

1987 Honda XL600R

My neighbor and I are in the process of turning a 1987 Honda XL600R into a chopper/bobber. He has build many other bikes for himself, his wife, and friends before and I must say, it is a very rewarding project. I can not wait to see this custom chopper/bobber on the road.  

We started by stripping down the frame and cutting it apart.  We left the front forks and the frame around the motor so that the motor mounts did not have to be remade.  We gave it a new backbone and raked out the front just slightly.  We added a Villain Tank purchased from Bike Bandit.  We are keeping the knobby tires and giving it a 4 inch extension.  I have learned that the hard part of building the frame is keeping everything level and square.  This is still very much a work in progress, but I will continue on the progress and post pics as we go.
